Moskva 2020 Metro Train Wins the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2021. The international jury team awarded the rolling stock with the highest rating in the category "Trains and planes" - the Red Dot: Best of the Best. "Moskva 2020" - metro cars of Metrowagonmash (MWM, part of TMH) model 81-775/776/777. Most advanced engineering and design solutions used in the world metro car building were used when creating a new generation of rolling stock. The sophisticated exterior design and technologically advanced interior was developed in collaboration with the leading Italian design studio Italdesign. Each element of the train demonstrates the high quality of the rolling stock, safety and comfort for passengers. Together with digital services (interactive maps, USB connectors in each seat, console screens, additional monitors, selection of a less loaded car through the application), a new format of urban space is being formed for inspiration, work and leisure. The width of the inter-car gangway has been increased by 57%, more than in any of the metro trains of the previous model. Doorways have been widened from 1.4 to 1.6 meters. The area of visible glazing of the doors inside the car is 82%. Protective glass screens separate the seating area from the entrance. A new configuration of handrails with a "warm" coating over the entire area has been developed. Passenger seats have been updated, for the first time backlighting of the seat space has been applied. The passenger salon of the eight-car train has 368 USB sockets: wall panels and seats are equipped with ports for recharging gadgets. Salons are equipped with new 1400 mm wide over-door displays, before that their width did not exceed 1200 mm, interactive screens on the walls have also been increased. Now the diagonal of the monitors is 27 inches versus 19 inches in the trains of the previous models. Console LCD monitors are placed under the ceiling. The driver's cab and the passenger salon are equipped with modern air disinfection systems. TMH Chief Designer, Evgeny Maslov, commenting on the results of the competition, noted: “This is a great victory for the large international team of TMH - designers, engineers, employees of our production companies, who not only came up with a stunning aesthetics of the train, but also brought it to life. Today it runs along one of the most beautiful metros in the world – Moscow metro. Founder and CEO of Red Dot, Prof. Dr. Peter Zeck stated: "The winners of the Red Dot: Best of the Best showcased their unique design prowess. Their objects set trends in product design and provide insight into future developments. Only a small fraction of our members achieve this perfect symbiosis of aesthetics and functionality. My sincere congratulations to everyone who received the award.” As part of the annual business event "Transport Week 2020", the metro train "Moskva 2020" became the winner of the National Prize for achievements in the field of transport and transport infrastructure "Formula of Motion".
