On June 4, JSC METROWAGONMASH (MWM, part of JSC Transmashholding) officially shipped the first two trains of the modernized metro cars model 81-765.B/766.B to Baku Metro.

The ceremony of sending cars was attended by the Director General of JSC Transmashholding Kirill Lipa, the ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan Polad Bulbul oglu, the chairman of the Baku Metro Zaur Mir Tofig oglu Huseynov, the Director General of JSC METROWAGONMASH Boris Bogatyrev.

The contract for the supply of 30 metro cars model 81-765.B/766.B to the capital of Azerbaijan was signed on January 31, 2019. Trains of this model are already successfully operating in the metro of Baku. In 2018, Metrowagonmash delivered two five-car trains to Baku Metropolitan. Modern trains received the most positive feedback from passengers and drivers.

By the end of 2019, six five-car trains model 81-765.B/766.B will be built for Baku Metro according to the contract.

Compared to the rolling stock of previous models, these trains have wider doorways. A passage through the entire train is provided, a new light warning system is used for doors opening and closing is installed in the trains 81-765.B/766.B. The design has good noise and heat insulation; the cars are equipped with air conditioning and ventilation systems, USB-sockets for passengers’ electronic devices charging. Platforms for disabled people are provided in the salons of the head cars. The original colorographic scheme was developed specially for Baku Metropolitan, the headlights were modified, and a new information system adapted to local conditions was used.

“When there are demands from the same customers, it means that there is a long-term relationship, that they trust us, that the rolling stock that we manufacture meets the expectations of our partners and this is the biggest foundation of our production and the development of our company. I congratulate everyone on today's event and thank the management of the Baku Metro for giving us the opportunity to work and produce metro cars,” said the Director General of Transmashholding Kirill Lipa.

 “Today, the first 10 cars are ready for shipment. The 765 model we made for Baku is the latest development of our factory, in which all innovative solutions are embodied, «said Boris Bogatyrev, Director General of Metrowagonmash. - I am sure that these cars will decorate the wonderful Baku Metro, and the residents and guests of the city will enjoy the trips. This year, we will fulfill this contract in a timely manner, and I thank the entire factory team for their work. Our cooperation with the Metro of Azerbaijan will continue and develop further”.
