The formal dispatch of three RA-3 rail buses took place at Metrowagonmash enterprise (MWM, part of JSC Transmashholding). Residents of the Sakhalin region will become new passengers of new trains.

The ceremony of rail buses sending to the duty station was attended by Vitaly Gudin, Deputy Chairman of the Sakhalin Region Government, Dmitry Pegov, Deputy Director General for Passenger Transportation of JSC Russian Railways, Alexander Loshmanov, Deputy Director General of JSC Transmashholding for the Development of Passenger Transport, Mikhail Malyugin, First Deputy Director General of JSC Sakhalin Passenger Company and Boris Bogatyrev, Director General of Metrowagonmash.

RA-3 is the latest development of TMH. On July 22, 2019, it received its certificate confirming its compliance with the requirements for the safety of railway transport and passenger traffic.

Compared with the rail buses of the previous models, the RA-3 is able to develop a higher speed; the number of seats in the train has increased. The head cars are equipped with places for disabled passengers, lifts for wheelchairs, and universal sanitary facilities. New interior of the passenger salon has been developed specially for this RA-3, meeting major modern requirements of aesthetics, fire and sanitary safety. Passenger salon and driver’s cab are equipped with climate control systems with air disinfection and video surveillance, information boards, and energy-saving LED lighting.

Today we are sending the first rail buses, «said Boris Bogatyrev, Director General of Metrowagonmash. - Literally tomorrow these three beauties, three trains, will go to Sakhalin Island through all mother Russia, where they will be operated. This is a project that we have done in record-breaking time. In just 8 months, Metrowagonmash designed, manufactured and certified this RA-3 rail bus. We can be proud of our product.”
