Metrowagonmash (MWM, part of TMH), Russia's largest manufacturer of metro cars and rail buses, was awarded the Russian Federation Government Prize for achieving significant results in the field of product and service quality. The corresponding Decree was signed by Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin. The document was published on the official Internet portal of legal information.

The text of the Decree reads: “To award "METROWAGONMASH" (Moscow region, Mytishchi)" with the 2020 Quality Prize of the Government of the Russian Federation for achieving significant results in the field of product and service quality, ensuring their safety, as well as for introducing highly effective quality management methods in the category of organizations with more than 1,000 employees.

“It is a great honor for us to be the laureates of such a prestigious award. Metrowagonmash is always focused on achieving high results in the production and quality of the rolling stock produced. We strive to provide our consumers with products based on the most modern technical solutions and the latest developments, - said Andrey Vasiliev, CEO of Metrowagonmash. – I would like to thank the competition commission and the Government of Russia for the trust placed in us! The high appraisal of our work will become a positive impulse for the entire workforce of the company.”

In recent years, Metrowagonmash has made significant progress in developing its production system and improving quality indicators in all areas. The company has five production lines; purchased modern equipment; tools and methods of lean production are actively used in the production system; technological repartitions are optimized. In 2019, the company became a diploma winner of the Russian Federation Government Prize in the field of quality. Having strengthened the work on all indicators, a year later the company became the winner of the competition.

Currently, Metrowagonmash produces new generation metro cars of the 81-775/776/777 model and RA-3 Orlan rail buses. The modern rolling stock produced by the company is one of the most high-tech developments in the world.

The competition for the award of the Government of the Russian Federation for achievements in the field of quality is held annually. Participation in it allows organizations to receive an expert assessment of their activities, indicating strengths and areas that can be improved, as well as suggestions for optimizing and developing the current management system.
