The modern train-set for Baku Metro has been sent from Metrowagonmash (part of JSC Transmashholding) to Baku, Azerbaijan. This was reported in the Directorate for External Relations of Transmashholding. The contract for the delivery of two five-car’s train-set of model 81-765/766 was signed on February 16, 2018. OJSC “Metrowagonmash” has been supplying rolling stock to the capital of Azerbaijan since 1967. There are 280 metro cars manufactured by the plant running for today. The previous delivery of metro cars to Azerbaijan took place in 2015. New cars model 81-765/766 known as “Moscow” are being produced by Mytischi Machine Works for Moscow Metro since the beginning of 2017 now will operate in Baku as well. All cars have a through passage and wider doorways as well as a new door opening/closing light warning system. The trains have a number of innovations. The cars operate by using of a new modern asynchronous traction drive, and provide noise and heat insulation. Saloon is provided with conditioning and ventilation systems. Trains are fitted up with sockets for charging electronic devices, and also the special space for wheelchairs and bicycle is outlined. A distinctive color scheme is specifically designed for the Baku Metro trains and the adjusted to local conditions information system is used. Each train-set has two heads and three intermediate motor cars. The estimated service life of trains is 31 years. The second train-set is expected to be manufactured and delivered to the customer in April of this year.
