CJSC Roslokomotiv, part of JSC Transmashholding group, entered into a trilateral agreement with JSC Sberbank-Leasing and Central Exurban Passenger Company (JSC CEPC) for the supply of RA-3 rail buses (DMUs).

23 new comfortable trains manufactured by JSC Metrowagonmash will be built and transferred to CEPC in 2019-2020: 17 two-car rail buses RA-3 will be delivered in August-November 2019, and 6 more three-car train will be delivered until the end of May 2020.

Rail bus RA-3 is a new development of LLC TMH Engineering designers. The exterior and interior equipment of the salons corresponds to the latest achievements in the field of transport design. The main configuration of RA-3 is three cars: two head motor cars and one non-motor trailer car. The rail bus may also consist of two head cars. Two rail buses can be operated in the system of multiple units, forming a set that can include up to 6 cars. The new rail bus can be effectively used for commuter passenger transport on non-electrified sections of railways with both low and high platforms. Compared with previous models, the maximum design speed of the rail bus has increased from 100 to 120 km/h. The quantity of seats increased by 15%.

New interior of the passenger salon has been developed specially for this RA-3, meeting major modern requirements of aesthetics, fire and sanitary safety. The cars are equipped with information boards that display information about the route. Passenger salon and driver’s cab are equipped with climate control systems with air disinfection and video surveillance. Energy-saving LED lighting is applied.

The head cars are equipped with places for disabled passengers, lifts for wheelchairs, and universal sanitary facilities.

Rail buses are equipped with emergency crash system.

Metrowagonmash has been developing and manufacturing rail buses and diesel trains since 1997. The rolling stock of this class developed at the enterprise is operated in Russia, Serbia, Hungary, Czech Republic, Mongolia, Lithuania and Ukraine.
