At the beginning of February 2008, OJSC “Metrowagonmash” (part of JSC “Transmashholding”) and JSC “Lithuanian Railways” (Lietuvos Gelezinkeliai) signed a contract for the supply of 10 cars of new RA-2 rail buses (8 head cars, 2 intermediate cars) with straight style sides of the carbody model 750.05-20. Under the terms of the contract the first delivery batch of 3-car RA-2 will take place in March this year. The rail bus is provided with a special place for a disabled passenger. The passenger’s audio warning will transfer in Lithuanian and English languages. It is to be recalled that manufacturing, testing and certification of RA-2 with straight style sides (model 750.05-20) was ended in 2007. The improved version of the RA-2 rail bus (model 750.05) in addition to the advanced appearance of the cars has a number of other technical innovations that provide comfort, reliability and convenience of operation. Interior decoration is made in accordance with modern requirements of aesthetics, fire and sanitary and hygienic safety, windows are equipped with multiple glass units with vent, seats have head cushion and soft pads. Saloons are equipped with heating and forced ventilation systems. Head cars are provided with closed type toilets. For the convenience of informing passengers, the cars have the information-communication system, display panels are installed in saloon and on the front of head cars
